| (January 5, 2005 - Taipei,
Taiwan) - MobiNote Technology Corporation
today (January 5) announces that its DP7010
7-inch MP4 player has won the Innovations
Award from the 2005 CES (Consumer Electronics
Show). As the world's biggest consumer electronics
show, CES has been reported worldwide since
IT giants entered the consumer electronics
market in recent years. The show this year
features personal entertainment and digital
home products (digital life) and will surely
become the indicator of development trends
for consumer electronics.
According to MobiNote, the award marks
international appreciation of its development
in large-size PMPs (Portable Multimedia
Players) and has ensured the global importance
of an emerging Taiwan manufacturer with
great R&D power. In the future, MobiNote
will continue to develop intelligent entertainment
devices for market niches to ensure the
continual innovation of it?s products.
PMP products are currently divided into
pocket-size (small-size) and portable size
(large-size). Realizing that 7-inch is the
best viewing size for mobile application,
MobiNote thus developed the DP7010, a 7-inch
MP4 player equipped with the top-quality
LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) screen
and advanced MPEG-4 compression technology
for playing MP4 videos in a wide screen
format (16:9). Furthermore, the DP7010 has
a wide viewing angle of up to 170°, which
is ideal for movie appreciation. Compared
to the pocket-size PMPs, the DP7010 has
a resolution of 400% to give live video
and audio effects like seeing a movie at
the cinema. The built-in 20GB hard drive,
MP3 player, photo viewer, voice recorder,
and digital video recorder in the DP7010
(operable in energy-saving mode through
the user-friendly interface) fulfills the
demands of users asking for a fully-functional
personal multimedia center.
Since the DP7010 was launched on the market
in Q4 of 2004, MobiNote has focused on the
European market. This year the company will
start distributing the DP7010 to the US
market. The whole PMP market in 2005 is
expected to grow rapidly after Microsoft
introduces its PMC (portable media center)
to the market. MobiNote will display its
PMP products at the 2005 CES at the booth
of Texas Instruments (TI) and Toshiba Electronics.
