The 1St APEC
Incubator Forum will be held from July 29
to August 1 in the Grand Hotel, Taipei. To
promote the concept of a Digital Island, the
Chinese Taipei APEC Study Center, Taiwan Institute
of Economic Research (TIER), will introduce
the ¡§Paperless Meeting¡¨ program in the Forum
for the first time, which allow TIER to provide
the forum agenda on CD-ROM instead of printed
material. Using the advanced portable and
touch screen computers capability of the MobiNote
EP8402 and a wireless Internet connection,
representatives may download the file of each
speaker¡¦s briefing in real time, eliminating
the need to jot down the content of PowerPoint
presentation. In addition, a ¡§Digital Museum
Guiding Solution¡¨ will be also introduced
on a field trip to the National Palace Museum.
MobiNote
Technology INC. is the agency for the MobiNote
EP8402. Using the MobiNote EP8402 touch
screen, representatives can be able to select
the agenda, speaker profiles, and download
speech outline files from the official Web
site by using stylus. MobiNote also point
out that the MobiNote EP8402, which is as
big as a sheet of A5 size paper (5.875 x
8.4 inches), can be neatly placed on a desk;
therefore hundreds of MobiNote EP8402 units
will be set up in the meeting room, providing
a ¡§Paperless Meeting¡¨ environment for all
representatives. In addition, the speakers
can comfortably watch the briefing files
from their MobiNote EP8402 without having
to crane their necks to look at the transparency.
Another important
application of the MobiNote EP8402 in the
Forum is that the MobiNote EP8402 will be
introduced in the digital museum guiding system
as a mobile device for the field trip to the
National Palace Museum on August 1. Unlike
traditional guided tours or audio guide tours,
the MobiNote EP8402 uses a wireless local
area network, which allows representatives
to download profiles of any relics and have
full control of their visiting time. MobiNote
points out that with an 8.4-inch touch screen,
which is four times bigger than an ordinary
PDA, the MobiNote EP8402 is ideal for use
as mobile museum guide. Weighing 710 g (half
the weight of a Tablet PC), the MobiNote EP8402
allows users to download multi-media profiles
of relics with the stylus. The MobiNote EP8402
is the latest in convenient and personal digital
guiding devices.
